Good image hosting site?

Photobucket must have changed the limits regarding compression of images on the site, now some of my signature banners (which were originally nice crisp PNG image files) now look... wonky. Apparently they're now JPEG files for some reason.

I was wondering if any of you guys out there know of a good site where I can host my signature banners, one that doesn't compress images when uploaded.

[EDIT]I would prefer something that allows for photo management, it just makes it easier to locate photos and swap out the image URL whenever I want to change my sig to match a certain occasion. [/EDIT]

I use TinyPic. There's an option to compress it, but you can just leave it as it is.  smile

TinyPic is actually part of the PhotoBucket conglomerate, so you guys are pretty much redirecting me back to PhotoBucket, which I do not want.  sad

Well... I use jotform All you need to do is upload a picture and then copy the link at the bottom. It has no limit to the number of picture you can upload.

I just tried it, apparently it compresses PNG images more worse than PhotoBucket. O.o

I use http://imageshack.us/. If you right click on the image and copy the link you can get it without premium.

Um, I kinda have my banner images already, I'm just looking for a good place to store them online. ^^;

Does it compress the images, or does it keep it intact? That's kind of my main issue right now, I'm finding that a PhotoBucket is compressing my PNG images into JPEG for some reason, I want my images to remain as nice quality PNG files during the upload process.

[EDIT]Nevermind, I just signed up to see it for myself, it's fantastic. Thanks for the suggestion.  smile [/EDIT].

[EDIT2]Oh, wait, it's still a JPEG on my end. Reopened. [EDIT]

Yeah, but I'm still looking for something with photo management capabilities (see my first post).

Re: Good image hosting site?

I use imgpaste.com. Though there are no management capabilities, it is really easy and quick to use, needs no sign-up, and gives tiny urls you can store in a txt file. And retains image quality. My only problem with it is the url returned doesn't include the http://www. prefix, so I have to add it manually.

Re: Good image hosting site?

For my image hosting I use Dropbox. If you save an image into your public folder, right click it, go to "Dropbox," and select "copy public link." To get the link is slightly more difficult, but you can change it, save it, and it automatically updates as the same URL. If you look closely, my sig is hosted on Dropbox. There is no bandwidth limit that I know about, and it has at least one Gigabyte of storage, which you can upgrade by things like inviting people.

Speaking of which... Clicky here to help a scratcher!

I just tried it out, that one works pretty well (finally, something that doesn't compress my PNG files into pixelated mush!), although the URL is somewhat lengthy to use...

I'll take a look at it Dropbox later (*is feeling too tired to sign up on websites*). If it keeps my PNG images intact and doesn't use a lengthy URL, then I'll switch over to Dropbox.  smile

Ah you might be slightly let down by lengthy URLs, but they're not THAT bad.

Edit: a quick search here shows that Dropbox.com can be reduced to db.tt with shorter URLs.

Hmm... seems like the URL shortener is mostly for file access, though, not necessarily shortening the URL of the image.

I think I'll keep using Picasa for my images since I already have a Google account, but I think I'll also use Dropbox for other stuff (seems quite handy as a place for file storage).  smile
