You're a girl? For some reason, I've always thought you're a boy.

@Earthboundjeff: Lesbian? That's really cool! And I'm not kidding.
@fungirl123: He's in chamber orchestra, aka advanced orchestra. 9 kids. 1 boy. also hes auditioning for northern regional orchestra, which I'd love to do, but I can't play my B flat scale fast enough. And the only things I know on the "what he likes" topic are food related.

Start a little music group. Invite a bunch of people, so it's not weird. You can just talk there and become friends.

Step 1: Make sure you own a cell phone
Step 2: Make sure he owns a cell phone
Step 3: Make him get it out 'could I see your phone?' and then ask if you can add yourswlf to his contacts list.
Thats how I got this one girls number, i'm a guy, and it is always super awkward.

You could talk to your other (close) freinds and ask them if anyone of them know him and than you could (for example) go shopping all together do you have facebook? than you can start chatting with him

Well, I'm a guy, so I think I can help you out. Here are some of my tips:
-Be Yourself! Don't try to be someone you're not, and be totally honest.
-Try not to show that you have a crush on him.
-Treat him like a normal friend.
Also, you guys both play instruments (according to the posts), right? So you could start a band. I Recommend 4 or 5 people in the band. You'll guys could definitely get along onstage & offstage, and you'll start a bond between each other.

Yeah, if you don't have much in common with him, then he may not be the right guy. But if you still won't give up, I found some quotes from my old thread:

Me & her are already close friends.

She's trying to say she wants to be friends. Not date him.

Well, I'm a girl and I have some guy friends, so I might be able to help. Making friends with a boy is not all that different making friends with a girl, but don't expect to talk too much about makeup or cute puppy dogs or whatever. (Of course, all people are different, so maybe your boy actually likes those things...)
Whatever the case, talking to him will be the first step to befriending him. One thing you definitely have in common is school, so you could always start with "How did you feel about that history test?" or "Have you started that English assignment?" or "Do you think our math teacher looks like a penguin?" Plenty of bonding can be done while complaining about a common school assignment. Then, hopefully, the conversation will progress to something more exciting and, abracadabra, you're friends!

Griping is a form of flirting, which is something she doesn't want to do.
