Situation: There's a boy I know-ish that I want to make friends with.
Problems:
1) I'm a girl.
2) It's halfway through the school year.
3) He's my crush.
Any advice?

Problems:
1) I'm a girl. So? I'm a girl and friends with plenty of boys. Gender shouldn't matter.
2) It's halfway through the school year. How does that affect anything?
3) He's my crush. Dunno, sorry.
Any advice?

Just treat him like anyone else who you'd want to be friends with. How did you make friends before? Do the same thing.

I'm a guy, & I have a crush on one of the girls at my school (I also made a topic about this earlier this year), so I know how you feel. Here's my advice:
•Guys like beautiful, yet kind girls.
•Try to stay cool when telling him that you like him.
•Make sure you guys are close friends.
•Try to look for symbols that identify that he likes you back.
•Be yourself! Guys like girls that are truthful about themselves.
Hope this helped!

Why be friends if hes ur crush, dont set the bar low.

I just think going out with him would be, um, boring.
And a little weird.

I know how you feel, you can't really "ask" to be friends with somebody.
Do you have anything in common with him that you know of?
I feel like an interviewer

Well, list a bunch of things he likes, then see if you share any of those.

Yeah, if you don't have much in common with him, then he may not be the right guy. But if you still won't give up, I found some quotes from my old thread:

Me & her are already close friends.

I already established that I would tell her in person.

Make connections, expand on your social group until he's part of it. Be yourself, if he likes you for you then there will be no problem. If you be fake and he likes the fake you then there will be future problems, and as soon as he finds out you're fake you'll ruin everything. If you see him doing anything you normally do then go over and ask if he likes it, if he says yes then talk about it, show you actually like it. Make sure you have a reason to talk to him, or he will know something's up, comment on what's on his screen, the shirt he's wearing (unless you have a uniform, then comment on his bag or something) and maybe ask a friend who knows more about him and find out what he likes. But don't get into anything just to try to get him to talk to you, make sure you're legit.

And he sucks at skating.

Just treat him like you would any other friend. Now, if you have a reason not to treat him that way, tell me.

Comment on a game he's playing, I made loads of friends by sitting there playing GTA:SA at break, I still contact them now. Use anything you know about him, match up what you like and what he likes.

There you go. There's one thing that you have in common; you both play instruments.
How do you know he plays violin well? Do you go to band with him? If so, compliment him on the way he plays the violin.

I wouldn't know, seeing as I am a lesbian and all
