Most of you probably already know that you can now put _meow_ on the forums. But to me, this is a smiley. However, when you tick the 'Never show smilies as icons for this post' box, it still shows a picture of the cat. I suggest that when the box is ticked, it will only come out as '_ meow_'. (Without the space).

Yeah, sure!

The reason it still shows is because it is using the censor feature of the forums instead of adding it as a new smiley. It basically replaces _meow_ with instead of the actual smiley. ( If that makes any sense )

That makes sense.
And I guess that means it wouldn't be easy to implement then.
I don't know anything at all about HTML, but wouldn't it be possible to check if the box is ticked, and only replace the _meow_ with the picture if it's not ticked though?

They just have to make it a smiley instead of a filter. Then all that will be fixed. ;D
