Self explanatory.
Only question, why not?
It's a nice category that would do no harm and provide more chances to be front paged.

No... Then people would treat favorites similar to love-its, and over-use them. I’d say that I only “love” 1 in 100 projects I view, and favorite 1 in 300.

Doesn't the Top Loved section do something similar to this already? It's not exactly the same, but they have similar meanings.
