"Stripping" projects?

Whats your opinion on the common practice of "stripping" projects- downloading them, taking all the music out then deleting it? I do it sometimes but if somebody tells me not to I dont unless they give me permission

Re: "Stripping" projects?

Instead of going to the trouble of remixing and deleting all the rest, couldn't you just export the sound and use it on a new project?

Re: "Stripping" projects?

I don't see anything wrong with taking the music, but most people do what Wickimen said and export the music so they collect a large library for use, like my brother puppetadventurer has.

Re: "Stripping" projects?

I just export the sounds like Wickimen does- sometimes I might find a good sound I want to use and then end up exporting it from someone else's projects.

Or sometimes there's some good music that I might want to listen to in the future, and I export it  tongue

As for "stripping" projects, it shouldn't be wrong if you give credit...  smile

Re: "Stripping" projects?

I strip it differently. I download, export music, use it in a new project. That form of stripping I do frequently.

Re: "Stripping" projects?

Or you could just download a zip from mediafire. But then you have to go through the trouble of scanning and extracting it  hmm

IDK about what you think, but maybe you should change the topic name. It sounds a little... you know... odd...

It's mysteriously gone.

Luckily I was wrong!  tongue
