signatures and bumps?
yes,I know I'm a scratcher,but WHAT IS A BUMP? I see people post it all the time,but what the heck does it mean? And how do you get a signature? Even NEW SCRATCHERS have one! I hope this topic helps others,too.

A bump is to get a topic on the front page, it is believed to stand for:
B: Bump
U: Up
M: My
P: Post
You see the spot where it says scratch forums on your screen? Click the word profile under that. From there look for a tab called personality on the side. In that tab, you can create your signature.

Actually, apparently bump was originally just a word, and the acronym appeared after.
And to get a siggie, go to: Profile>Personity and then there'll be a box to type it in.

Bump means Bring Up My Post.
Every post brings the topic up to the top of the list, so BUMP does too!
Make it in Scratch! because it's cooler when it's made in scratch

Every post brings the topic up to the top of the list, so BUMP does too!
It's not actually an acronym, it just "bumps" the topic to the top.

BUMP means:
B= Bring/Bump
U= Up
M= My
P= Post
meaning, your topic/post goes up the list.

Well, adorablekitten2220, BUMP means "Bring Up My Post", pretty much bringing your post to the top of the forum so others can see and possibly post on it.
And to get a signature, you can you in your profile (on the blue bar up top, next to "Search" and "Forums Home".) then click personality. But, since you're a New Scratcher, a message will come up as
"Signatures are not allowed for New Scratchers. Thanks for being patient and Scratch on!"
Just keep Scratchin', and you will be a Scratcher in no time, therefore allowing you to have a sig.
