I think we should hide the number of posts a user has made. I know a lot of forums that do this, and it's pretty nice. I think there's a setting in FluxBB that allows this, but I'm not sure.
Why? Then we wouldn't have the problem of post count bragging, treating post counts as a game, and spammy topics about post counts. I don't think that they really do anything positive, so getting rid of them would be ridding ourselves of a lot of grief.
Can we just try it?

I've seen that thread before. The idea is a bit different, though. Nothing ever really was resolved either. And there has been more of a rise of post count topics. I'm not sure what you mean with that. Duplicate? Not really.

i don't think it's really different enough to need a separate thread
i don't see how a rise in post count topics is relevant, a thread in suggestions is a thread in suggestions regardless of its age (until somethings been done anyway)

Nah, I kinda disagree.

It shows how often you post, so you can see how active those users are.
How about you have the option to turn it off/on, but don't have to?

Is there a specific reason why you'd need to see how active a user is besides the posts they've made in the past? I don't see how the number has any meaning.

Yes. If two people were giving me advice, I'd probably go with the one that's been the most active, as they'd be more experienced.

I often ignore my post count here on the main forums. It's not needed here, and I see no problem in taking it out. Post counts shouldn't gauge activity; your influence on the community [and possibly when you joined] should.
Now TBGs on the other hand incorporate post counts in some games. If we were to take them out, we'd have to move a lot of threads xP
