Pokèmon: Ultimate Hero

Hi! I've been thinking of making a Pokémon game called "Pokémon: Ultimate Hero". This game will be about a person who needs to save the universe (or the world) from Team Rocket. In this game, for Pokémon battles, we will try to make it so that you can have complete control over the Pokémon. We will also try to make 3D graphics (not pop-out 3D, but 3D as in video games such as Pokémon: Battle Revolution). Here is what you can do to help make the game:

Programmers:

1. fuzzwuzz21
2.
3.

Notes: Please try to design a battle system where you can completely control where the Pokémon moves. You should make at least two different viewpoints in a battle if we can completely control the Pokémon.

Pokémon Designers:

1.
2.
3.

Notes: You may come up with your own Pokémon. Please try to draw some Pokémon that already exist, though.

Music Makers:

1. ShotgunSam
2. PinkiePenguin
3.

Notes: Please make music for battles, for places, and for the title screen.  smile

Sound Effect Makers:

1.
2.
3.

Notes: Please make sound effects for things such as attacks, Pokémon fainting, and hitting buttons on the game menu.  smile

Graphic Designers:

1. Zach205
2.
3.

Notes: Graphic designers will design general graphics, such as the character and the places in the game. Also, since this game will have more 3D effects than the normal Pokémon games, please don't make characters look like they do in the normal games. Try giving them a somewhat 3D look if you can.  smile

Now for the goals:

Draw 3 already existing Pokémon in 3D - Incomplete

Draw 3 made up Pokémon in 3D - Incomplete

Make a battle engine where you can completely control your Pokémon and where you can battle Pokémon controlled by the computer - Incomplete

Make a game demo - Incomplete

Make a full storyline - In Progress

Here is the storyline and order of events so far:

1. Professor Oak asks the player information (such as the name and gender of the person) about himself or herself the same way that the player is asked information in the real Pokémon video games.

2. The player starts in his or her room and has to go downstairs.

3. Mom tells the player that they need to go to Professor Oak's lab for starter Pokémon.

4. The player goes to Professor Oak's lab and chooses a fire-type, grass-type, or water-type Pokémon. Hopefully, those Pokémon are ones that we made up. Also, the one that the player chooses starts out at level seven.

5. Professor Oak shows the player how to battle.

6. Once the player starts walking out of hometown, two random members of Team Rocket appear.

7. Once the player defeats Team Rocket, the player continues to walk out of hometown and sees many members of Team Rocket battling other people.

8. The player battles a few members of Team Rocket. After the Team Rocket members are defeated, a few of Team Rocket's Pokémon decide to join the player's team. Each one is below level 10.

Anyone can come up with ideas for general things such as attacks. You can help me with the storyline, but please don't try to too much, because I'm going to try to mostly do it myself. You can have more than one position for helping make the game. There is no limit for how many people can work on the game. If you want to help make the game, just ask.  smile

Sure!  big_smile

For the sprite making, do you want me to add you to the "Pokèmon Designers" section, the "Graphic Designers" section, or both?  smile

Also, thanks for joining.  big_smile

Re: Pokèmon: Ultimate Hero

Do you want me to use some of existing pokemon sprites or completely draw my own i can do both but drawing my own will take a while to get all the nessary sprites for even a couple of towns.

Re: Pokèmon: Ultimate Hero

Actually, you don't need to draw Pokèmon. That's the Pokèmon designers' jobs. Also, you'll have to draw your own stuff, but you can draw it to make it look similar to something else if you want. Don't draw towns yet, though. You can draw people, such as Giovanni (the leader of Team Rocket), a boy character, and a girl character. Be sure to make the girl characters have about the same height. You can draw the boy character and use that to make the girl character or the other way around if you want.  smile

Re: Pokèmon: Ultimate Hero

Ok i am working on some sprites right now I know not to start on towns yet (sort of hard to do without all the sprites) also while taking a break from drawing I have set-up basic X and Y scrolling (that seems to have no problems) with an easy to set-up barrier that doest use sprite colors for sensing (one glitch in that that allows the character (currently an oval until the characters are done) to occasionally gliding through stuff though).

Re: Pokèmon: Ultimate Hero

I've got some of the storyline and order of events down. Here it is:

1. Professor Oak asks the player information (such as the name and gender of the person) about himself or herself the same way that the player is asked information in the real Pokèmon video games.

2. Character starts in room and has to go downstairs.

3. Mom tells the player that they need to go to Professor Oak's lab for starter Pokèmon.

4. The player goes to Professor Oak's lab and chooses a fire-type, grass-type, or water-type Pokèmon. Hopefully, those Pokèmon are ones that we made up. Also, the one that the player chooses starts out at level seven.

5. Professor Oak shows the player how to battle.

6. Once the player starts walking out of hometown, two random members of Team Rocket appear.

7. Once character defeats Team Rocket, the player continues to walk out of hometown and sees many members of Team Rocket battling other people.

8. Character battles a few members of Team Rocket. After the Team Rocket members are defeated, a few of Team Rocket's Pokèmon decided to join the player's team Each one is below level 10.

That's all I have for now. I'll add more later.  smile

Sorry to burst your bubble, but 3D isn't possible on scratch. but if you managse to do 3D, you will probaly have to split the game into parts.

That's not what I mean by 3D. I've seen many people do the 3D that I'm talking about. I probably will have to split it into two parts either way, though.  smile

Re: Pokèmon: Ultimate Hero

It's pokémon, not pokèmon.

it's pronounced poh-kay-mon, not pok-keh-mon. that's why it's an acute accent, not a grave accent

I think Battle Revolution graphics are too complicated for Scratch. Scratch would need to transfer to a Polygon system (or Clayspot, as it used to be referred to in slang when it was first in video games). However, having sprites like in Ruby/Blue/Black/Diamond/Heartgold etc. (you know, the handheld "real" ones) is probably possible.
