I got inspired by one of the other ideas in this thread about having a Hall of Fame for projects. Well, I think it would be neat if we had a Hall of Fame for scratchers.
We could do the vote once every month to put 1 person in. The people on the ballot would be all the people on the front page that month, and 5 nominees from other scratchers that CAN'T be themself.
Tell me what you of this idea scratch! :%

This may encourage Scratchers to become more competitive than they already are, cheating, spamming, doing all they possibly can to enhance their chances of getting front page. Many Scratchers will become more concerned with getting "fame" and "popularity" than learning how to program. On the other hand, it may increase the thoroughness and time spent on projects and motivate people to try harder. It all depends on the person. Younger users may become discouraged because they do not achieve the success of being on the "Hall of Fame." There were also be more cheating related to creating "dummy accounts" and although there can be fixes to make it harder to cheat (IP Adress, certain number of projects, etc.), it won't fully prevent it.
I think that the top sections we already have are fine and a "Hall of Fame" will not be necessary.

I agree! That IS a good idea! I would want to vote every month, too! I totally think this is worth adding to the site!

i dont. it would be severly unfair, as the newbie's projects woukd not turn up on the front page. at the moment the newest projects can be seen on the front page.
