I've forgotten what my scratch password is. I can only write this now because I never close my account. Is there some way of finding out your password?

It's a password resetting page, all you have to is type in your email address (the one you signed up for Scratch with) and it will reset it. You'll receieve an email with the new password on it.
You can then use the "Change password" button on your "My stuff" page to change it to a password of your choice.

Also, try going to another computer and try logging in with different possible passwords!

Thank you, but I'm not sure it worked yet. Do the ST choose my new password and e-mail it to me, or do I get to keep my old one?

I've never reset my Scratch password, so I don't know for sure, but I'd presume it's similar to YouTube where it's just a bunch of computer-generated letters and numbers. You can then change it to a password of your choice

Actually I think they send you a link to a page where you can choose your new password.

Yep. I did that yesterday for a joke account of mine. Not saying what it is though. XD
