Exporting

You should be able to export projects to other formats such as HTML or html5 or Xcode or squeak or smalltalk or... You get the picture.

You can only "save" projects into SBproject form, meaning that the project is only accessably by Scratch itself

If you upload the project, you can copy the HTML code to embed the project into a website.

If you download BYOB3 you can export projects as other formats. I believe this topic has been suggested before. Go here and here for more information.

That's a bit of a "bandaid solution," as my Science teacher would call it. You're not legitimately exporting it to an EXE; you're altering Scratch so that it runs your project when you run Scratch. I'm not entirely sure how BYOB3 works in terms of exporting your projects, but I'd imagine it's something similar.

But since Scratch is meant as more of an introductory language, I'm not sure there's a huge need to be able to export your projects. Should you wish to have your project exported into a certain format, you can move on from Scratch to make it in that format in the first place. Scratch's uses are limited.
