This is a Terrible Idea !
Developing a program often takes hours, days or weeks ! i don't want to be online all during that time !
Please make Scratch Two Available for OffLine Programming !

This is one of my pet peeves about Scratch; It just lacks professionalism!
Who is in charge of this Operation anyways !
i have often thought that maybe one of the principle reasons that it is 'going to the cloud(s' is to limit it's use ! MicroSoft, one of the principle funders of this project absolutely does NOT want everyone writing their own programs...!
And while i was typing this comment; It kept hanging up my entire webbrowser !
What is That About !!!

3 Things:
o Microsoft doesn't fund this, MIT does.
o Microsoft, if they heard of this - they might actually like the fact that the Scratch Team have simplified programming.
o If you hate Scratch so much, why are you a member?

It does not lack professionalism
Microsoft is a lifeless company that deserves people yelling at them, and they did not make scratch, MIT did.
The fact your web browser is hanging is you computers fault. Just reading this, I can guarantee you have never used a real computer, only the excuses that dell, hp, and sony make, which are called pcs...

I think you should be able to lock your works in progress (or even your finished projects) so that they cannot be viewed by anyone but the owner. By the way, PLEASE don't make Scratch 2.0 completely on the cloud, I love using the software that you need to install. Call me old-fashioned, but I feel much more at home when I'm using software instead of a web browser.

Read the FAQ, they will make an offline version, just software like what they have now, except it will be 2.0. Get your facts straight before you rant :D

Uh some of the draft projects I make (as in those I don't upload which is basically all of them since I deleted my projects) are pretty graphic since I make them for the Grade 9/10 kids in this Programming Club

And it lacks professionalism how? Several of your problems could just be your own computer.

I think you should be able to see other Scratchers' drafts, but only if they want to. They could like click a button, or check a box, or there could be a separate section of the Scratch website dedicated to sharing drafts! Good idea though

You don't have to upload them. I'm pretty sure it'll let you save draft projects so that nobody can see them or onto your local machine.

Without reading the blog for now, as an answer to the general question I would say no. Seeing drafts allows early access to something someone might want to release later as complete. If sharing drafts was optional than I guess this really doesn't change anything other than the way uploading one was handled.
I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

I think that there should be a button to turn sharing options on and off, like when you save a little check box like this 
should pop up. By default it would be unchecked, and if you need help it could be checked to show it.

the question of looking at unfinished projects with the scratch program installed on the website leads me to thinking of the friend list. you could make it to which only friends could view your unfinished projects.

If the user ticks a setting allowing so, yes. It would allow them to get feedback or elimnate bugs. However, it could be turned off so that a 'suprise' can't be spoiled

This is the current version of Scratch.

The Scratch Team is working on Scratch 2.0 which is rumored to be released around Summer 2012. Scratch 2.0 is also rumored to have a code mode where Scratch Team will let you use a type of coding language (unknown as of now) to script projects. It is also said to have tons of new blocks to script with. More sprites, example projects, and sounds will be supplied, adding on to the ones already available.
The Scratch Team says it may take a while to create Scratch 2.0 because it takes time to think of new blocks, sounds, sprites, example projects, and rewrite all of Scratch. After that, Scratch Team has to update the website to run Scratch 2.0 uploaded projects and they have to convert Scratch 2.0 into a version for Windows, MAC, Ubuntu, and any other OS's they decide to include.
As of right now, not much info is available or guaranteed.
AND. scratch should be for ipod touch.
