How do I fix the low resolution look of my scratch project?

My imported photoshop image (original file is high res) as well as all my text based sprites (created in Scratch) look very low res and pixilated and I don't know why. Especially the photoshop image I created and imported (it also contains lots of text)...when I put it to full screen you can barely tell what it is or read the words. Help!

Are you using the 'Change size by #' or the 'Set size to #' blocks? If so, that'll be why.

Re: How do I fix the low resolution look of my scratch project?

As RedRocker227 said, make sure the sprites are size 100%. Try doing "clear graphic effects" too, just for good measure.

How big were the original images? If they were larger than 480x360, I think Scratch scales them down. Scratch's scaler/resampler is pretty rubbish, which could explain the pixelly look. You might need to resize them in Photoshop first, or possibly redo them entirely.

Hope this helps  smile

Re: How do I fix the low resolution look of my scratch project?

Thanks guys! It's looking much better.... not crisp ...but better... I am not using change size or set size blocks. But my photoshop images is readable now that I resized it in Photoshop. Thanks again!
