This wouldn't split the community, this'd enrich it, if the project owner wanted a younger audience to view it they'd at least make another project which is censored. If Scratch had a censor which was locked at on when the owner is under 14 it'd indeed enrich it, if on a Minecraft server topic someone said "Banned XXXX for saying the c word" people can then get a lot of bad words from that. And if they lie about their age then complain about swearing then that's their own fault.

So we can see this system WILL work if the scratch team decides on it.    Thanks!

Not fair!! For example, if there was a song with swear words, the words would be sensored, and the song wouldn't make sense. Sentences don't make sense if all the words aren't in them.

You WANT to listen to music like that?
The user can simply find a clean version of the song on the internet. 
If you want to listen to that junk then I suggest you listen to it aside from scratch, on the radio, Media Players, iPod, any kind of phone these days XD, etc. (Not that the song is junk, its only the bad words that are junk)

As ponify has already proven, it is possible to change already typed words. For example, on mine.

The f-word turns into buck (horse-wise bucking).
Hell turns into hay.
Etc.

The word could be replaced with a substitute. As for the song, the owner can make 2 different projects if s/he wanted to get the optimal audience, 1 with no music/clean version and one original one.

I think it should be replaced with the meaning, unless of course it has a bad meaning, so the H word would turn to Heck B word to female dog, etc.
It would be nice if this happened. And if the word is bad and has a bad meaning it would replace it with [censored] or something.

This isn't really an idea the scratch team will do. It is nice but not an idea the scratch team would do. Scratch is made for kids 5+ so a scratch for teens is nice but not a very good idea. if you want to swear use Youtube or DeviantART. Cause scratch is for all ages. If scratch was for teens only they would have an age limit of 13, but they don't cause it's a all ages website. Sorry if If i sound rude or mean but it's the truth. Scratch is for all ages so scratch for teens only cannot be possible.

Well.... You'd have to make your own web server because the site needs Memcached to run.

I don't want to swear, just some things like bloody projects should not be on scratch, but there are so many, I've seen some being featured, so the Scratch team wont remove bloody ones, but if it blocked them for young ages... 

I also meant anything with lots of blood.

I don't think this would be nessasary. Scratch is meant to be for everyone. 

And this would make it more appropriate for younger ages who don't want to see a blood splattered screen.

Blood is allowed on scratch, and some parents might not allow their children to use scratch because of it. (like one of my friends...) this sort of thing is a problem with the way that Scratch Content is limited.

And my suggestion would allow you to post it only some people could see it.
