I know that I can create a new sprite by copying an existing sprite. (I'm new at this and that's what I've done so far.) I read that new sprites can be created from the File menu. But I can't find the File menu. What am I doing that keeps me from finding the File menu?
TIA.

I will help you in a sec. Let me upload a pic.
UPDATE: Ok, let's see. For sprites in the program, click this guy under the white box:
He will get you into a menu, and you have sprites there in categories.
I hope that helps!

Um, let me check in Scratch. I will update my post if there is. Are you Windows XP? I'm XP.
UPDATE:
Click the little Scratch on top over there, and a menu will pop out. That is basically the file menu, like in Mozilla, you might say this:
Does that help?
Alex
UPDATE: I will get closer pics.

I'm familiar with the "File" menu that we find in most Windows programs. Clicking on the little guy in the upper left corner produces a menu, but it's not what I'm searching for.
And now that I have re-read some sections in the book "Scratch Programming for Teens" by Jerry Lee Ford, Jr., I realize that there *is* no File menu. He refers to the File *button,* and I'm so used to looking at the "File Menu" in the menu bar, that I consistently read it wrong.
Thanks for your help. Sorry I wasted your time.
