I have a group of elementary students who have set up accounts using my professional email address. Everytime we try to use the "share" function, we are told that we have an invalid username. The students are logged onto the computers with their personal id's and onto Scratch with their usernames.

Hm...
It might be something to do with the school filtering maybe? Or maybe you accidentally mistyped the password when signing up? If so, then it can easily be reset.
Have you made sure you they typed the username and password correctly?

Same happens. It's Because either the filthering blocks sharing or because school computers hate scratch. Or it's because you must of put in the wrong password when signing up. if it still doesn't work try making a new account and see if it works there!
