Yes, I remember Andres-vander (I think) posted a topic in AAS asking why his signature had been edited.

They can. Having experience as a PnBB mod, I can assure you that your sigs can be edited for content or size.

You mean for inappropriate content?
If so, yeah. But if it was bad enough they would need to edit it, they would propably ban that user.
