And you might if you were really illBut it was the teacher's mistake, not the student's. Maybe the student didn't notice? Maybe the teacher thought that the student shouldn't go to detention? There are numerous reasons why the student shouldn't be punished.
But if it was that the teacher knew, then surely that's favouritism?
Maybe, but then that's still not the student's fault.

1. How do you know they are homeschooled?
2. Who in particular are you thinking of?
3. Why are they funny?

Today my teacher wasted HALF of my free time for my reading log, and i finished it. He just made me do science corrections. :annoyed:

Lol, what is there to feel guilty about? To me it seems that you got off scot free, and your friends probably will too. She might not have put you down 'cus she thought you wasn't as bad as the others, and you're convincing yourself with guilt that you've done worse.
it's only a detention, anyway.

Stay. She didn't write your name on the board, so don't go. You wouldn't go to the doctors and go to an appointment if you weren't on the scedule

Yes, but she couldn't blame the person, or it would be the most silly excuse for keeping somebody in for detention.
TEACHER: "Why didn't you go to detention"
STUDENT: "My name wasn't on the list"
TEACHER: "You get detention for not remembering something that was my respondsability to remember!"
Just stay!

Oh good, I have supporters. That rarely happens.

I don't think I'm going.
See, the more I think of it, the less I feel guilty and the more I feel angry. The door wasn't even locked. She said everyone who was involved in locking the door must go, and the door wasn't locked.
And teachers don't exactly trust me, so what do I have to lose?

Don't go, it's completely pointless and the point of it is to make you regret doing it and not want to do it again. I think you already regret doing it so I think it would be pointless to go.
And it seems like a really unfair punishment. But what exactly did you do, in detail.

Just after assembly, we saw one of our teachers riding on a motorcycle on the field, and our teacher took us to see him closer, because he was wearing a Santa suit(he was doing something for this charity). When we went back, we ran into class while the others were still walking back. Once we got in, this guy called Eric shouts that we should lock the door, and we go to do it, but didn't find the key. So to make the people outside think it was locked we jingled a piece of metal in the door. Our teacher shouts from outside to open, and we do. She says "Everyone who was involved in locking the door will sit detention from 08:00 to 12:00 on Saturday". And we didn't really lock the door. It wasn't even an official punishment either, she just decided. She wrote down the names on the board after asking a witness, but my name wasn't written down or told. My friends called me a lucky devil, and laughed about it, and said it doesn't matter because they aren't going either.

And I didn't go. If I did go I'd still have to sit for an hour from now.

If its a real problem, go.
If you just feel weird about it, but you're not doing something bad, stay.

Its weird and annoying because some of my friends did go, and when Monday came my teacher had forgotten about it, and us that didn't go didn't get in trouble :P
