Aren't ROMs illegal?

It depends, but many are.

Some exceptions:
Completely new games that the developers give away for free.
Sanctioned by the company that made the game (a la Mother 3 fanslation).
If you own an original copy of the game.
When the copyright expires. This varies from country to country though.

This. But in this case, it would be illegal, huh?
I'm pretty sure topics that are guides to breaking the law aren't allowed.

1. It's not necessarily illegal. You could only get games you own, or freely available legal ROMs.
2. The guide just says that you can do it, but it has no details about where or what.

Would it be aloud if a close friend owns it? I've heard both ways.

I don't think so. It would be legal for them but not you. So only play it when they're over.  wink

I dunno, my mams boy friend said they were so old it didn't matter. Well the companies don't sell them anymore.

On a Macintosh there's not a whole lot of options yet, but for PC I recommend ePSXe. It let's you run the original CD-ROMs easily, but it does require a BIOS file.

I didn't think that the Twilight hack worked anymore. And I'm pretty sure Nintendo patched up the Bannerbomb exploit.

Instead, for a exploit that WILL work forever, use the Smash Stack. I don't remember it exactly, but you can look it up on Google.

I just tried the bannerbomb hack within the last month. It still works fine. I don't know about the twilight hack because my wii disk drive doesn't work. (That's why I Homebrewed in the first place)
