Ehh it would be better as a PNG. The indexing really doesn't suit the image.

Yes because if you convert 256 colors to a png, it can't use more colors because you can't turn a tiny chocolate into a huge chocolate. (get what i mean?) you should have saved it directly as a png from wherever you created it.
