Beta Testing
I've heard that scratch 1.4 beta is out! Where can you get it?
I've taken a long hiatus, but I still visit sometimes. Give me some time to answer any messages you post on my projects!

You can't get it.
It probably can't use its new blocks on the website anyways.

The blocks can't be on website but can be used in scratch can't they?

I really want to check out the new string handling that is included.

I found a video on youtube that shows the 1.4 beta! It's not English, though.

It looks like it's mostly simple changes. There's new blocks, but you can't really see what they are yet because the video is too small.
Still, I think this is a pretty good find. 
Edit: I looked closer, and there's an "ask [text]" and a round "answer" block. I wonder...

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

hmnwilson, good find.
It shows the following new blocks:
string concatination: ( ) & ( )
parse by character: character (2) of (string)
length: length of (string)
AND
as you note in your edit above...
Ask (prompt) and wait
(answer)

Ok, the beta was probably sent to trusted members of the scratch community and they probably said not to share any download links.
Just relax, it will come soon enough.

I'm sorry but the Scratch Development team does not want that information released at this time. They are working with a small group of testers and are not ready to send it out to a larger audience.

Okay Paddle. Do you know an estimate time when the beta or full version will be out or is that Classified too?
