Electronic Music

I'm kind of new to this kind of music, and I really like it. I really got into Daft Punk, so I checked out some similar stuff.

Here's a basic idea of the stuff I like:

The Chemical Brothers
Moby
Radiohead (at times)
Daft Punk
Aphex Twin
The Prodigy
The Crystal Method
DJ Shadow
Girl Talk
deadmau5
Beck (at times, maybe)

Let's discuss electronic music. Please give me recommendations, if you have any.

Re: Electronic Music

I really like Richard D. James' stuff, and good to see you do too. I'm really into a lot of chiptune as well.
Let's see what else
Venetian Snares
Boards of Canada
Autechre

deadmau5's cool. My favories by him are Brazil, I Remember (the short version), Moar Ghots 'n' Stuff, FML, Hi Friend, and Animal Rights. I don't get how he's dubstep though. Sounds more like house to me.

What's digitalism.

Well in the middle of Raise Your Weapon it starts to become dubstep
at around 5:00 or something

Yeah, but that's one song. (The bass drop is right after the 4 minute mark, by the way.) Deadmau5 is predominantly house. Great music too, and I see you have a good taste in songs. My favorites by him are probably Jaded, Brazil, Alone With You, Strobe, and Edit Your Friends.

I can't say I'm a fan of a lot of Daft Punk though, at least what little I've heard. I'm not too found of their particular style of vocal sampling, a la "Technologic."   hmm

Re: Electronic Music

Daft Punk is pretty boring IMO. Not a lot of variation, and it doesn't really sound very good.

Yeah, a lot of it's pretty repetitive, so I'd understand why you'd say that.

I'd disagree. Though I do like both genres.

Apparently it is.

I guess I'm cool now, because I found it outside of House.  tongue

You know, just because something's mainstream doesn't make it bad. If you like it, listen to it.
