Sounds like Peter Pan and Never Never Land to me 
. I actually just wrote an essay for English about how the refusal of Heathcliff and Catherine in Wuthering Heights to let go of the past and grow up destroyed those around them, as they desperately grasped for what once was.

Humans aren't made for immortality. Let me be a Maia and immortal, or a Dwarf and immortal. Our primitive race wouldn't do well as immortals (see how we got Nazgûl for details).

Yes, growing up is so hard!
But there's nothing you can do about it. And, if I had the choice, I wouldn't change a thing because for everything there is a season.
If you never grew up, you would never know the fun of adulthood. Yes, there's more trails, but there's also increased joys, and you'll be capable of so much more!
I'll always have imagination and I'll still enjoy running outside, even when I'm 100.
I, for one, am embracing it.
I won't sacrifice the good times for the hard ones.

It's natural to not want to grow up, it seems so fun and unstressful. But don't worry about it! Life won't zip away that fast, and being an adult has its perks, too!
