A few questions:
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of using Scratch? Do you think it's a good way to learn computer programming? If you were going to make a new version of Scratch, what would you change and what would you keep the same?
Thanks!

My favourite part is probably variables and lists (don't ask why ).
It's a good way to start programming, but people wanting to be a games designer for a living should probably move onto to more advanced stuff after a while.
Add more blocks (show/hide list is a MUST) and stop the horrendous lag that comes with long scripts (it's such a pain making 1s1s projects).

My favorite part of using Scratch: I don't know why, but I just LOVE the clean up option in Scratch. It helps keeps me really organized (Which I can assure you, I'm NOT ).
My least favorite part of using Scratch: I don't like how when you make big scripts, it's really slow when you drag them around.
Do I think it's a good way to learn computer programming? Yes! In my opinion, all people who want to program should start with Scratch. It's a good way to get them started on programming. Then, once they've got it down, they can move on to more advanced programming languages.
If I were to make a a new version of Scratch, what would I change and what would I keep the same? I actually wouldn't change anything, except maybe the Paint Editor (It needs some improvement, but I heard they are going to improve it in 2.0, so I don't need to worry about that) and have it run in Flash instead of Java (Which I also heard is going to be the case in 2.0, so I don't need to worry about that either).

I think Scratch is a wonderful, friendly programming interface for anybody. I'm 14 and I could see myself still using Scratch in college, though I would experiment in Flash and the like. I absolutely love Scratch because you can put together just about anything, including animations, games, contests, and school projects. It is amazing.
My favorite part about Scratch... Well, I don't think I can choose one! Scratch is amazing. I agree with previous answers that the clean up option and variables are very helpful, especially the variables. I love using them. I have to say one of my favorite parts of Scratch is the fact that each block is colored and explains everything right there on that block. You could take the text from a script and read it like a story; you can basically see a script and know almost exactly what that's going to do. That's my favorite part about Scratch; how the programming is so friendly. Oh, and this is kind of irrelevant, but I love the fact that Scratch Forums uses BBCode.
My least favorite part about Scratch is that it is limited. There is a 10MB limit, large scripts are slow, 1800+ scripts take forever to download, etc. That is all understandable, but I think Scratch is bigger than it realizes. See the next paragraph for what I mean!
If I could change Scratch in the next version, I would see if there was a way to absolutely expand the program. I know it would probably be complicated to have 10MB+ games, but there are lots of talented Scratchers who have huge games they can't share. Besides the file size, there are blocks I would add. Constantly when I'm playing, I wish there were certain blocks that I really needed. I can't remember them all, but one is definitely a "go to x:_ and y:_" block for variables. I always need that! There's more, but like I said, I can't remember them.
Wow, it sounds like I'm criticizing Scratch more than I'm complimenting it! Haha, but I really do love Scratch. I've always enjoyed creating things, as I'm a writer and artist, but I never thought I would get into programming. Now I love it.
P.S. Are you sure this goes under All About Scratch? Isn't this a help forum? Maybe this would go under Miscellaneous. Ah, I'm probably wrong.

My favorite part about scratch is that you can make anything you want with any theme and characters.
I think that scratch is a great way to learn about computer programming.
The only thing I don't really like about scratch is that you can't delete small parts of a script if the script is long.

Acctualy the scratch program is run in Sqeak, for a correction I'd also agree with the same things on this!
