When scripts are running it causes Skype to drop calls, same for the image editor.

Yeah, I figured that out, too. That's because your computer cannot handle such a large amount of CPU usage at the same time, so it has to close something.

hmm, not sure if that's the case. scratch doesn't use much CPU.I think it's a port problem

Well, it really depends on the computer. For some older computers, Scratch eats up enough CPU to cause lag (assuming you're running a project).

On some of my REALLY complicated projects the CPU usage is about 95
