I am getting SO tired of complete JUNK in the tops(veiws and loveits mainly). I miss the day's of fun games that crashed my computer and hilarious animations. Not this "I'm going to update you on my upcoming update" stuff! There might as well not be those bars, cause I rarely look at them and I'm sure many of you don't either.
There are lots of scratchers new and old to the site turning out awesome projects, just to get 4 veiws while "updates" are hogging prime time with 500 views and 50 loveits.
I'm not sure what we can do to stop it but we can think of something.
Whose with me????
Note1: don't call me a ragin' noob because I most certainly am not!
Note2: I am prepared to act reasonably, I most certainly don't to make this become a website divided.

Yeah, I really miss those old days. Remember Jewel RPG? I'm going to say 'yes', but we can't do anything about it. Frodo couldn't bring back the Elder Days, and I don't think that we can bring back '07 and '08 (and maybe '09, I forget when the front page got corrupted).

dude.
are you serious.
Let's be realistic. This is a kids programming website and all you care about is getting popular?
Now THAT'S shameful.

You must understand people on the front page work hard to get there, and it's not fair if people don't like them.
I think you;re thinking for yourself and that you just want to see better projects or get YOUR projects on the front page.
I hate it when people do this because these things always get closed because it's mean and rude to down on people's projects for no reason.

This is what I meant by
"Don't use this as leverage for your stuff though."
Although I think you're a little fearful for your front-page position. Honestly, what evidence do you have that poopo is "down[ing] on people's projects for no reason"?

New visitors get a 404 error message!
It wasn't meant to be a joke. They should replace it with like the Scratch blog or something.

i disagree, its practically the only way you can find projects.
well , sorta. i've never clicked "projects" at the top blue bar, true fact.

It's shameful that you assume this is about me. I couldn't care less about ME getting on the front page. It's about the scratchers that make awesome games and animations get 100's of less veiws then junk. I'm also not "downing on people for no reason". Notice I have named no names and I am fighting for a purpose not for "no reason".

Nor have I...
It should probably just be limited to featured, curated, and friends' latest projects, as well as the Scratch blog.

Firstly, correct your error! (Not to be a spelling police officer)
Secondly, I think that people shouldn't worry about whether they get front paged or not. This is an online site for kids, why make problems when this is supposed to be a fun site to just make stuff and share it with the world?
But I do agree with you, that there are many new, unrecognized scratchers that make great projects but only end up with 4 views, and 1 love-it (If they're lucky) and deserve to be front paged.
Let's face it, people go look at projects that interest them. People on Scratch like updates, and unfortunately we can't change what's popular on the site.

It's nice to know that you want good projects on the front page, but seriously, this topic really is unnecessary. There are about a hundred other topics about this, and they haven't changed anything.
The problem is, Scratchers subscribe (friend) other users so they can see more stuff. So, when they see a new project in their friends' projects box, they click on it. Even if they think it's junk, they still have contributed a view, and they can't undo it.
Now, a thousand more people do this, and soon, the project is on top viewed. Get my point?
Not meaning to troll, just saying. This happens on most sites.

Yay let's complain about this for the bazillionth time.
