Scratch

Unfortunately, I made the holes too close together to play a song, so I'm going to make another one.

Materials:
-a toilet paper roll (*or any other hollow thing you think you could use: be creative c:)
-a drill or hole punch
-a pencil or a bigger drill bit for the drill
-tape
-cardstock
-scissors or an X-Acto knife

Step One: Take the toilet paper roll* and tape both ends off so no air can escape. You may want to only seal one end off and the next ends until after the next step.
Step Two: Drill/punch the 10 holes and mark the place for the voicing in the ocarina. If you don't know what they look like, then look up ocarina on Google. This is just the placement of the holes, so don't worry about size.
Step Three: Take the scissors or the X-Acto knife and cut a small rectangle with another smaller rectangle jutting out of it, with the smaller rectangle pointing the opposite way you play the ocarina.

Then cut two small slits that continue from where the smaller rectangle stopped.

Step Four: Use the pencil or bigger drill bit to make the bigger holes bigger.

Step Five: Take the cardstock and cut a 2 centimeter by 3 centimeter rectangle out, then fold it in thirds lengthwise. Squish the sides of the paper so on end of the paper is wider than the other. This will be the mouthpiece.
Step Six: Take the mouthpiece and a piece of tape and tape the less wide end to the bigger end of the voicing, but don't completely press down the tape, because you may have to move the mouthpiece to be able to play your ocarina!

Step Seven: Blow into the mouthpiece. If you hear a whistling sound, you've placing the mouthpiece perfectly, move to step eight. If not, then adjust the mouthpiece so it hits the smaller part of the voicing, or until you hear a ocarina sound.
Step Eight: Press down the tape firmly. You don't want to lose the sound, do you?
Step Nine: OPTIONAL: GO to a tuning website and tune your ocarina, then decorate.
Step Ten: ???
Step Eleven: PROFIT! (and enjoy your ocarina :D)

Yes, I realize it doesn't exactly make the beautiful ceramic ocarina sound, but it's pretty close and it sounds pretty :) So, if you make the ocarina, tell me so I hear how it went! I'll be off making my second ocarina now :P
