WindozeNT Software has made history! Today, I have released 6 updates and 12 new products: a total of 18 software releases!

Updates:
The Chooser 1.3 - Cleaner UI and now can open any file type.
Crash Shell 1.3 - Auto-locates Crash.exe.
Fakera1n 1.0b - Fixes the exiting bug and features minor enhancements.
Maxi Pad Beta 2f1 - New Document, Open and Save features. Also has an icon and is now resizable.
MacinCrash for Windoze 1.0.1  - Fixes menu bugs and has a better icon.
MacinCrash For Mac 2.0.5 - Fixes minor internal issues and shortens the Balloon Help description.

New Products:
Crash Dialog - Simulates the dialog you see when a program crashes.
Flash Player NT - A portable Flash player. Supports only SWF files.
iBoot - Accurately simulates the Mac OS X boot sequence.
IE Killer - An Internet Crashplorer removal tool. After removing Crashplorer, your PC will be less prone to viruses and will be more stable and faster!
Mac Mounter - Mounts drives to your Windows desktop like Mac OS X.
Number List Generator for Mcrsh32 - Number List add-on for MacinCrash for Windoze 1.0.x.
Photo Booth For Windows - A picture viewer a la Apple.
Sample Equation via OLE - The name says all.
South Park Rally AI Hack + Completed DAT File - AI Hack and DAT file with everything unlocked. For PC version of South Park Rally.
vDie - Simulates a fair die.
Win9x Bootup Simulators - In other words, me playing around with the .Move method in VB6. Click the Windows flag in Win98's bootscreen to see Win95's bootscreen.
WindozeNT Wiper - Wipes then permanently deletes any file of your choice.

ENJOY!

I tried that. It doesn't work.

Urm... just having Internet Explorer on your machine won't harm anything... and does your software remove Trident? That would break a lot of applications besides IE...

It just deletes the iexplore.exe file. Old builds used to back it up but I don't think IE Killer's final release does that any more.

Most Internet happy applications locate IE specifically to open it, which allows viruses to be downloaded and run since IE is nothing but an unsafe waste of HD space that wouldn't know proper security even if it bit IE's header off. Deleting that crashy virus frees up just ~634 KB of space but makes the PC much safer.

This is a double-edged sword, dear. Although you may have cut the plant at the stem, the root still remains. It is known as either Trident or MSHTML (mshtml.dll) and it is the rendering engine of IE, which a lot of applications use such as WMP, Outlook & Outlook Express, Skype, and even parts of Windows Explorer itself. Accessing the internet from these programs is even less secure than using IE and has the same cruddy rending engine. If you get rid of the rendering engine, you break these programs and more. If you don't, you still run the risk of getting viruses even without Internet Explorer.

And just so you know, Windows has a setting built-in for default browser which defaults to IE but any competent browser (Chrome/ium, Safari, Opera, Firefox, Konqueror, etc.) changes this setting during their install process. Although I myself don't know how to change this value otherwise, I'm sure there's some sort of utility software or even just some menu on the Control Panel that'll allow you to change the default browser, sir.

It's via Start Menu settings. But changing default browsers doesn't stop apps that go to the EXE directly and execute it. But as for the rendering engine, it won't be needed when Shelled Basix gets released. It gets rid of the need for WinExplorer, WMP, Crashplorer and anything else that relies on the engine and after Shelled Basix gets released, IE Killer will support deleting MSHTML.DLL.

That's the result of Micro$oft forcibly bundling and tightly integrating Interfail Crashplorer into Windows and related products. Its been like this since Windows 95 and most people hate it. It even caused the DOJ of several nations (like Europe and even America) to file anti-trust laws against M$ for trying to destroy competition with said integration and not offering a way to uninstall IE; thus allowing M$ to capitalize on their browser/operating system monopoly and make other competitors suffer.

Most people will still use the regular Windows shell, so whatever. And are you planning on offering a Skype alternative?

I also know of no program that links directly to IE. Care to give an example or are you just making that up as you go along?

Yes I can. A feature in the program "Finderbar" (by Landvermesser) opens IE via EXE when you use certain features and the ffdshow codec features a JavaScript to open IE directly for some type of use (I can't understand JS).
As for the Skype alternative, yes. Shelled Basix's technology is equivalent to, if not better than, Explorer's. One feature is (planned) support for animated icons. Another is faster loading time (about 1.5 seconds whereas Explorer takes 5). Another is better customization and easier use. Lastly, another is 75% faster file searches (it takes Explorer FOREVER to find files). Does your Explorer do any of that without expansion programs?  tongue

EDIT: How did this turn into some type of "WE vs. SB" debate?

Re: WindozeNT Software

Hey, I'm not sticking up for Explorer. I think it's crud as well and I'd rather use something like GNOME 3, but you can't do that on Windows. Anyway, how long will it be until you make this shell? Of what I've seen of your programs so far, they're either file launchers/deletes, animations, or resource hacks. :I

EDIT: It didn't. You're the one who brought it up.

It's still in development. If you're a WindozeNT Software developer, you can get a copy of Shelled Basix DP1 when it gets released and have a look for yourself!  big_smile

If you actually read the description on the database, you'll see that it is an Anti-Apple word processor. That text file you see is the documentation for what the features do.

Yep! MacinCrash For Windoze 1.0x is a resource hack of WordPad (version 5.1 to be exact)! MacinCrash 1.3 is completely rewritten from scratch, but as of right now is somewhat unstable.

veggieman001 wrote:

Last night I started work on a new project codenamed "Program Manager XP". It's a replica/port of Windows 3.x's Program Manager for Windows XP SP2/Vista/7 (since the original doesn't work on these platforms). It's almost complete (just have to get window-related and is now on the NTSoft database. I've decided no long after working on PMXP that should try to replicate old Windows shells before working further on Shelled Basix so I can develop it better (if it isn't better already).

EDIT: MacinCrash is a controversial program. They think it crashes stuff or something when really IT'S JUST A WORD PROCESSOR.
