Software development company

Before you say "this goes in Collaboration," this is not in scratch, so it goes here. I am starting a company for making software in Visual C++. It will all be open source, and we will give it away for free. I need programmers who are also new to C++, so we can learn it together. Make sure you do have some experience in other languages, so you'll know what we're talking about.

Re: Software development company

Looks cool, but I'm not really interested in online collaborative programming or Visual C++. Sorry. :\

Re: Software development company

Can I join?

I have experience in Python (first and best), Objective-C (mostly, a little patchy in some areas; a quick Google search when necessary cures that), Java (less, but still decent), a little C (because of Objective-C), some Ruby (I've got the syntax, but I have trouble remembering all the keywords and synonyms and stuff; they did TOO good a job at making it English-like), Flash/AS3, and a tiny bit of HTML/CSS/JS.

I have sorta a knowledge of C++ (I've gone through all the cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial stuff, or most) but I can really still be considered a beginner.  Especially considering that I've had no ideas more than a calculator, which is why I'm asking to join.  I do use Code::Blocks for it's lower file-size and cross-platform-ness instead of VC++, if it matters.  I don't think it does.  Tell me if I'm wrong.

I'm not sure. I was planning on doing .NET stuff, but you still have the Win32 API, right? We can work with this. Can you make GUIs with it?

Um… I think so?  I mean, I have Windows.  I can write code.  I can do all the other stuff.  I've made a little thing that makes a popup message (like the JS alert()).  Is that it?

Can I join too?
I know some about every language in the Visual.NET series (less with C++, ironically) and I'm decent with them all!

Back in my day.... there were no laws that censored the internet... now, there are.... nah.

Re: Software development company

bump. maybe we could make a simple os that has a few commands. not a real os, just a command-line program, like DOS.
