Mac. That way you can legally run a Windows VM. Although you should just get Parallels and use Ubuntu (get Parallels no matter which non-mac OS you want; it does SOOOO many: Windows, Ubuntu, Fedora, (maybe a few other Linux-based), and even Chrome (not that you really want that one), in addition to Mac OS X in case you want to switch back).

Windows. A mac technically IS a PC and a computer.

Mac FTW!
And yes, a mac is a personal computer... who got the stupid idea that a mac is not a pc?
And don't waste your money on parallels, just use Virtualbox. Dual-boot if you want to play games on Windows because virtualisation is not as slick or fast as a dual-boot. I have experience with dual-booting so contact me if you need help.
Why get a laptop? Get a quad-core iMac... faster and more screen for the same price... unless you need the portability of a laptop

iMac or Mac Book pro.

Alienware. You can play Skyrim.
Otherwise, Windows is my personal choice.

Ah, because the original meaning of PC in that context wasn't "personal computer." It was used to refer to computers that were IBM-PC compatible; that is, they used effectively the same architecture as the original IBM PC's back in the 80's. Since Macs deviated and used processors from Motorola, and then PowerPC, which had a different architecture, they weren't part of that group. Thus, Macs weren't PC's. Of course, this whole thing is somewhat irrelevant now because Macs have moved to Intel processors, which run on the same x64/x86 architecture. This makes them PC's in both senses of the word.

Macbook for the lose!
You want to get Windows. The ONLY advantage of a Mac is that it has maybe 9-10 cooler applications and the GarageBand tool.
Otherwise, you have all the Mac functionality in a Windows.
Toolbar of a Mac? Windows 7
System security? Microsoft Security Essentials
Processor Speed? Overclock it
Runs all hose cool Mac files? You can download a converter.
Webcam pre-installed? Buy one. Not that expensive.
MAC IS KEWL: Argument invalid.
Advantages:
----
Most Windows have at least a 2.5X better graphics card
Windows 7 is more versatile
You can run Skyrim on high-ultra
You have HomeGroups on Windows 7 and above, it's like a shared network drive but better
You can run almost all the types of sound files
Thousands of applications that will not work on Mac will work on Windows
