Super Smash Scratch

This is my new game, Super Smash Scratch. Yes, i have evon told archmage about this so he is aware i too am creating one of the best SSB games on scratch ever. This game is 100% mine though, and I am focusing on the game to be more like Brawl updated with new characters maps and adventure mode than what archmage is doing. In fact, my game is to be more like SSF2 than anything. I will include 40 characters in the finished product, as many maps as are available from TSR, and new items. Also,  there will be an adventure mode and classic mode, plus a stadium mode for minigames. I will basically have everything Brawl has and more. The demo is available at the moment, but its so slow it wont even start- download it and it runs perfectly in presentation mode. I may add the following characters:
shadow the hedgehog
norm - chaos sheild
up - chaos meteor
down - chaos repel
left/right - chaos blast
final smash - super shadow
riku
norm - dark firaga
up - dark jump
down - dark sonic dash
left/right - dark bash
final smash - Heartless Firaga
sora
norm - fire
up - thunder
down - cure
left/right - blizzard
final smash - ragnarok
megaman
norm - buster shot
up - sword spin
down - stun shot
left/right - fast shot
final smash - megalaser
mega man zero
norm - laser
up - backflip swordspin
down - sheild
left/right- dash
final smash- megalaser
ill come up with more chars later- atm im adding kirby and samus. after that, ill add one of the new chars and start working on classic mode. once classic is done (and at that point ill have 5 maps) ill post v.2
For v.2.5 i hope to have yoshi, ness, captain falcon, and mario in.
I may remove the following characters that were featured in brawl:
wolf
pokemon trainer
lucario(not 100% gone, just replacing with a poke from Quartz)
so, i got my game plan set out!!
So, try out the demo and tell me what you think!
PS: Archmage, if you read this, please tell me what you think about my game and idea.

Re: Super Smash Scratch

Well since you asked for it here is my opinion. Judging by your other projects I do not think that you have the skill to make a project such as the one you are describing. I suggest that you don't aim as high. Sure it won't be the best scratch game even but it will still be good.

Re: Super Smash Scratch

I am an expert in scratch, in fact, i just do not work very hard on many of them. This one wil take me months to make, but scratch is easy for me to use for i am an expert in C++, BYOND code, and many other extremely complicated codes. Scratch is no problem, and I already have the base code for the game done. The game wont as perfect as you aim for yours to be, but it will definitely have many more features. So, with all respect, please do not doubt my extremely expansive and knowledgable abilities. Thank you for your time.

Re: Super Smash Scratch

oh, and a word of advice, Michael will make you lose some players. He could easily be replaced with someone like Mastercheif, for the moves are similar.

Re: Super Smash Scratch

Sorry for doubting your ability but all I had to judge your ability on was your previous scratch projects. Perhaps you can post examples of some of your other programs?

I don't care, playing as MJ in a video game is awesome and funny.

Re: Super Smash Scratch

just click my name and check out v 1.5- but you must play it in presentation mode for it to run. And archmage, i must agree with you on that.

Re: Super Smash Scratch

A google search has found your BYOND profile

http://www.byond.com/members/YutPut

And I played your SSB version on the site.
http://www.byond.com/developer/YutPut/ForumforSSBB

Its kinda hard to control and the presentation needs work.

Do you have anything that better shows off your abilities?

Re: Super Smash Scratch

I can't, it says that the link is broken.

byond://YutPut.POF##version=3##guest

That produces a broken link.

Ok, I got it to work by fixing a broken link. But still, it is very confusing and the movement and presentation need work.

I don't make a lot of games, I usually just enjoy playing with code. But if you want to see my newgrounds account you can go to http://archmage-flash.newgrounds.com/

Other languages I do include, Actionscript 2/3, HTML , php, pascal, and java. However, I have only made games using actionscript.

Re: Super Smash Scratch

The first thing you should do is fix the terrible movement.

This is my schedule for my game.

create a movement and fighting system (done)
put 8 characters in (done)
set attributes for the attacks
create a CPU opponent (partly done, I cloned the AI from SSF2)
create stages for an adventure mode
place and program enemies in the adventure mode
create a menu and other selection screens
program other gameplay modes (haven't given this too much thought yet)

It should come to about 7-10 megabytes.

You should create a plan like this too.

If you plan on making your SSB game like the shoddy SSB game on your BYOND profile then I am pretty sure that mine will be far better.

Why not count HTML? It a computer language, even though it isn't used for programming. HTML does a lot more than edit font, it does many things. Also, a full understanding of HTML is needed to code well in php.

Re: Super Smash Scratch

I already have my 8 characters. Each character took me a day to put in so I don't feel like putting in any more than needed.

Each one of my characters has a full set of attacks and movements which is about 200 costumes per character.

Also forget about adding a massive adventure mode. My adventure mode should be about 4-6 megabytes and it won't even be that big. If your project is over 10 megabytes then you can't put it on the website.
