Fix the forums search bar.

Here is a suggestion that could make the search bar less annoying to use: http://suggest.scratch.mit.edu/forums/6 … search-bar

Belongs in the suggestions forums. *reports*

Please do note that these forums are created from FluxBB, and so it probably will be hard to change their search system as it is built in.

Re: Fix the forums search bar.

I believe the forum's search bar does search for a keyword in all posts, not just topic descriptors. As such, I actually find it quite useful. And if you'd like a bit more of a comprehensive search, you can always use the search link at the top of each page.

Yeah, but in the larger forums, (Like misc.) Its impossible to find what you are looking for as there are 10,000 topics, and 300,000 posts, so you get lots of search results none of what you wanted, Now if we added this, we could search for keywords, or for the topic name, or even for the author.

But you can already do so with the search link at the top of every forum page. The purpose of the search bar is typically meant to be a quick and easy way to conduct simple searches. More complex searches can be done with the search link.
