Christmas is the big-money holiday. Everybody gets gifts for everyone they know, and that's why you'll see Christmas stuff out before Halloween even. It's all about the cash for those giant retailers, and yes, it is really weird to see all that stuff around so early.

My marching band was playing Christmas music in the "Holiday parade" last Sunday... but so was pretty much everybody else. I didn't see any Thanksgiving floats.
