Streptococcal pharyngitis.

AKA Strep throat. (if you don't know what that is, click here)
Here's my story.

Two years ago, I was having a normal life, when I realized I had a sore throat.  I went to the doctor, and they did the culture test.  The 5 minute test came up negative, so we waited, then the overnight test had to, of course, come up positive.  I got amoxicillin, a fairly weak antibiotic, which was supposed to get rid of it.  But –guess what– it didn't.  So I had strep 3 more times all in a row.  And I tell you, it's not fun.  3 more antibiotics, each one stronger than the last.
So I decided enough is enough, and I got my tonsils removed.  That stopped strep throat from ever coming back.
Well, for two years.  So here I am, not at school presenting my research project I worked long and hard for, but instead, I am typing this up with a sore, dry throat and no desire for this to happen again.

btw, if you ever end up with this, drink milk.

I have to come up with a purpose for posting on this topic so it doesn't get closed.
Has anyone else had an annoying sickness, or one that randomly came back, like mine?

If you are having trouble with simple counting, use the following mnemonic device: 1 comes before 2 comes before 5,280 comes before 523,860,759 comes after the square root of -153 comes before π. This will make your previous counting problems seem like no big deal.

Re: Streptococcal pharyngitis.

How's it possible to get strep without tonsils?

Re: Streptococcal pharyngitis.

Strep throat? Sucks for you.

Also, have you tried sucking on hard candy when you have strep?

Worked for me.
