Re: Beta Flash player

I use a windows 7 and it wont work on full screen. It just stays the same size and goes to the corner of the screen. also the variables pile up in the top left corner. other than that it works much better

Re: Beta Flash player

well, I think that the main bugfix that has to happen is the costume flipping messing up the rotational center of the costume. alot of my projects (mainly games) use this feature, and it really messes with my platformers when you turn around but it moves the costume back and you get stuck in a wall. also when you have seperate sprites for different parts of the body ( like here: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/boombarnesy/2158255 ) then it really messes up the appearance to the point of annoyance. it would really be appreciated if you could spend some time working on this.  wink
other than that, it's a good player. particulaly the speed is good ;D

Same here. At least one project (that I've seen) in this month's SDS, will only work in Java. Aim_Fire even said in the notes of his project in the SDS.

Ah - and this is something that happens in the flash player, but not on Scratch? (and not on the Java player?)

Can you make an example project that shows the difference really clearly, and post a link to it on this thread?

Re: Beta Flash player

Okay, it's great but the fonts look different and slider values are off slightly!
Like i saved a project with a range of 1.0 to 10.0 and i set the value to exactly 5.
When i loaded it in the flash player, it was 4.977!
And the value's diddnt go up by 0.1 either.

Could just be a problem with your computer. Everything works for me.

Re: Beta Flash player

The flash player is AWESOME!

So much more ability to do things like record sound from your microphone, meaning that my Sound Recorder + Analyzer actually WORKS online.
The quality is also much better.
You guys did an awesome job. Keep up the good work.

Re: Beta Flash player

Cloning (if you modified Scratch through Shift-Click-R) actually works online in the Flash player.

Re: Beta Flash player

I was testing this, and I noticed that on my Area maker project, instead of clicking and dragging to paint, you have to click to just put one part down, which can get very tedious. HOWEVER, It is a good thing for the decoration feature, because they don't look very good when dragged out. Do you think that this could become an option for the stamp command?

Re: Beta Flash player

How soon will the Scratch Team have the MIDI library for flash in? Does anyone have an estimate? I need to know because a lot of my future projects will need the sound blocks to work.

Re: Beta Flash player

Way better than that Java player. There will be an embed code for Flash instead of Java, right? Because that would be really nifty.
