I had an idea for a new Super Mario Bros. game. I doubt I'd be able to make it on Scratch but here are the main points of the game.
*The graphics are of the same 8-Bit style as the original NES Super Mario Bros.
*There are achievements to be earned (a feature that Mario games have been lacking)
*There is a multiplayer 'survival' mode where you have to try and run through a stage as it auto-scrolls three times as fast. The person who stays alive the longest wins.
*There are 10 worlds with 4 levels in each
*There is a save system but if you get game over you have to start from the start of the world you died on
*You can play as Luigi and he can jump higher than Mario but slides when he stops dashing (Like in Lost Levels)
*The difficulty is like the one in the Lost Levels
So what do people think?

It think it's really great. If your having some difficulty making the game in Scratch, you can use Game Maker 8 *Lite [http://yoyogames.com/gamemaker], or better yet, hack Super Mario World with the help of SMW Central [http://smwcentral.net].

My very first project to be uploaded was a Mario game. It is no longer worked on and you might want to have a look.
On the other hand, I dislike 8-bit graphics. But this sounds interesting!
