As suggested by smcb1, the "What the community is..." rows on the homepage now show 3 randomly selected projects from the top 10 each time you load the page.
Thanks to scmb1 for the great suggestion! For those who are curious, here's the suggestions forum thread where the idea was first proposed.

This is going to be really good

It's cool to see a normal scratcher's ideas being implemented.

Seems like a very beneficial change! It's not major enough that anybody could strongly dislike it, but it is useful enough that it will help increase the rate at which popular projects are being noticed -- at least, showing a bit more variety.

Personally, I like this change way better. I have always looked at the "What the community is..." projects but once you view all 9, you're basically done until another comes on, and they don't all switch at the same exact time so you end up viewing one at a time unless you didn't view them for a while. Now, there are 30 different things that can be on the front page and 9 at once, so every time I view, there is usually at least one new one I have not seen yet Also, out of all the 30 projects, usually at least one is going to reach the deadline for its section so then another one will replace it. Which means by the time I view all of the projects, a new one will come on the front page so I shouldn't have a time where I've viewed all the projects on the front page!
I also like it because now there are a variety of people on the front page and people, even if they don't have many views, can still get on. I saw a project when this new addition first came out with only 30 views on the front page! And it was a very good project and was deserving of the title.
Thank you Scratch Team and everyone who voted on this suggestion!

I think this is a great idea, that way more people get a chance at Top Loved and whatnot.

Are you sure it's the top ten, because I just saw one that was 18th. I counted. XD
