I like this but some things like the costume centering needs work.

Hi,

Maybe some of you have heard the news : adobe decided to stop the flash technology because of the HTML5 standard growin.

This news makes me think about the future of Scratch.

The choice of the flash technology by the scratch mit crew was for me a big mistake : but anyway it seems that this decision was not really community driven, the media lab having its own agenda in this matter, and decided to go with a proprietary technology.

I hope that we will all learn about this path : a lot of energy was put to port scratch into a proprietary platform, which is dying right now. It would be more wiseful to choose the html5 technology from the beginning. Or to make scratch a real open-source community driven software. Right now, there are forks, divisions, and wrong vision. Really sad and disappointing, for an educational tool.

Cheers,
Samir

Re: Beta Flash player

The new flash player works great, I don't have to wait for my projects to load, and every time, they accutually show up instead of a white screen. Plus It goes the speed of the program, not the speed of the lowding softwere. It's great, it really is.

Re: Beta Flash player

Sometimes the variables like Health are out of place. But I still think there should be a option to switch between Flash and Java.

Re: Beta Flash player

The Flash player is AMAZING! I've done projects that are faster and better! I think it's pretty cool. Sometimes Flash is too fast. But overall, it's great.  smile   big_smile   roll   tongue    big_smile   cool

Re: Beta Flash player

I like it soo much better than the other version. It's much easier and it shows exactly what it looks like when im making it. The other version always makes it smaller.

It will do that on the Java player and offline, too. I'm pretty sure there isn't a stop timer block.

Flash doesn't come with a built-in MIDI library, so the Scratch Team has to create their own. It's not complete yet.

Hope it gets done soon, I am kind of counting on those blocks.

The full screen mode isn't working. I'm using Internet explorer 9. But It's not working on any browser I use.

Re: Beta Flash player

I love the Flash player, especially the full-screen mode.

I'm going to drop a plug here for my "Scratch on Chumby" idea - Google "Chumby" and within two or three clicks I think you'll get what I'm after...

Re: Beta Flash player

It's great, but you can see some interesting differences with Color Graph Maker/Picker.  Perhaps that would make a good test program.
