I don't think there is a single answer for that question. It is preference I assume.

That's an interesting question...it can be fun having all that attention and it's nice to have people appreciate your work. But once you have a popular project or two, there can be a pressure not to dissapoint your fans so you may worry too much about what you should share - and how well it will be recieved. So that can be a downside - if you choose to let it bother you. My advice, if this is a concern, would be to not take it too seriously and not worry about it.

What he said, I agree that its fun having the attention but hard to keep up with any fans

Its all a matter of opinion I see. Some of my friends would give anything to get famous. But some scratch celebs get even their worst projects front page as its downside.
Which is wats happening now...

Hi, just been looking at Scratch "celebrities" as some people call them. Is being one good or bad???
I'd say it depends on how you look at it.
Being a Scratch "Celebrity" would take time and work, and stress will eventually build up, until you feel like you need to make a perfect game, but sometimes the Scratch "Celebrities" get problems with being one. Such as what paddle2see said, and about how their projects that may be terrible or pointless get the front page, and then people that aren't their friends start to have problems with that person.
Archmage for example, makes really good projects, and he's popular, but he doesn't get front page, and I'm sure he's fine with that.
On the other hand, there are the people who think they need front page, and then start to get angry and frustrated.
I'd say, it all depends on your personality.
