the pen system is ok if you want a lasting track, but i want a tail that only lasts a short time, like the trail of a meteor. how can i do this without making ten million sprites at increasing transparencies? you cant.
a movement trail (with thickness, color and length controls) would be great as my missiles are currently either flying around using (apparently) no engines, or leaving a trail that never goes away (when was the last time you saw a plane going by, and could still see the smoke trail a month later?)

Well, why don't you quickly use the clear/pen down blocks? I made a galery of games that use one sprite and one script. It can show you how good it looks first using the stamp/clear (or pen down) functions together online and how to utilize them

Well, my bouncing ball constantly stamps and clears, and if you look at it in presentation mode, it looks like it has a trail

well, those were almost right, but i wanted a continuous tail that FADES. not one that waits a while then starts dissappearing.
*lets out a sigh of submission*
oh well, looks like i'll just have to make do with the hundred-sprite method
