It seems as if we need more librarians, cause not everyone is active.  hmm

Re: ITopic: Welcome to your local block library!

I'm not sure more is the right term, perhapse it might be worth asking those librarians who haven't been very active if they truly feel they have the time at the moment and then if any step down - even temporarily, we can look for suitable replacements?

Yeah, I didn't think we needed more. I was just saying that maybe we need some new ones to replace.  smile

Theese wont work, because the condition is evaluated at the start and is never changed. What you need to do is replace the boolean with a boolean unevaluated input, and replace |wait until (condition)| with |wait until (call (condition))| (make sure there is no gray border in the call block)

Hi Miles,

Sorry about that! Paddle2See and I were just discussing coming up with new rules about linking that will make linking to weebly sites totally fine (and take it off the black list). Hopefully they'll go into effect in the next day or so.... So sit tight.

I feel that I'm not active. I would be willing to step down if other felt the need.

Yeah, I think that you would be a good nominee.  big_smile

YAY! Thank you Amos and Paddle2See!

If you are reading this, please read to the end, because if you don't you won't know what's at the end. Don't just skip to the end though otherwise you won't be able to read the middle, which is most important. Now you must be wondering why you just read all that, the reason is you may have not noticed something, read it again and see if you notice it this time  smile

You're the most active user around here. We need someone like that.

Oh, and two blocks.

Code:

('Evaluate Squeak code: %s' #- #evaluateSqu: #'self beep') ('Evaluate mathematical expression: %s' #r #evalMath: #'1+1')

Code:

evaluateSqu:code
"by LS97"
Compiler evaluate: code

Code:

evalMath:exp
"by Hardmath, partial credit to LS97"
^ Compiler evaluate: exp

Re: ITopic: Welcome to your local block library!

Greenatic, I do think that you might do a good job as a librarian to replace TheSuccessor. You have been know in the past to be a little impatient/rude so as long as you can remember to remain polite and friendly on this thread  smile

You will need to give me your email, the same as the other librarians so that private contact can be established, however, you won't need to post the email here, I'll post my Scratch email and you can send your address to that.

Re: ITopic: Welcome to your local block library!

If he doesn't feel comfortable doing that, I can setup an alternative means of contact.  It doesn't take that much effort.
And it would be similar to emailing.

Re: ITopic: Welcome to your local block library!

Well, it just happens that my e-mail itself gives away my full name/identity, so it's probably not a good idea.

@Sparks: I understand what you mean, and I'll do my best to change that.  smile

well we can do a workaround, I'm sure! Otherwise you could always create an email account using your greenatic name like myself, yahoo, google etc all offer free mail accounts!

If I can fix the MySQL problems on the block library site (I might use one of my own sites as a database host) then it might simply be easier for all the librarians to have a private contact/chat area there. It could even email you if you get a message (Then you could enter the email but no-one would be able to see it.

Yes, I actually like the idea of trying to move the MySQL... It's a pain that it only sometimes works at the moment...
