I know, I've been scratching for 4 years now and I don't know what a scratch-off is? Well, I've been using the forums since 3 months ago.
Anyway, do you just openly challenge somebody? Or do you ask them, and if they say yes, you do it? Or what? Can someone explain it to me? Thanks.

Two people each make a project (must be a fresh project, you can't have started work on it), viewers decide which is better.
It roots out the weak.
Kidding.

I gathered that, but do you just say, hey! I challenge Archmage! Or do you have to talk to them beforehand?

People usually do the first one, but you should do the latter.

You should politely ask someone, or make a topic asking others to challenge you. That way they know you'll accept.

Here's the best way to challenge someone...
You(on a private channel like a project):Can I have a Scratch Off with you?
Him:Sure!
You:*posts announcement on the forums*
If he declines, post "Challenge Necromaster!" on the forums.

It's basically when two scratchers try to bring attention to themselves by making a big display out of projects they would've released anyways. Also the loser might quit scratch forever
