Interesting. It's amazing how Rome, once one of the greatest cities in the world could be reduced to a burning pile of rubble in a day.

I know. We learned all about it in social studies the last 2 years. There were a lot of events leading up to it, but the city itself was actually destroyed in a day.
We also learned something funny. The last emperor, Romulus Augustulus, was trapped by a Germanic tribe general, told to get of his horse, and was used as a footstool by that general.
