Re: Scratch Mod Olympics

I still don't like the judging technique for bonuses.
What does the comment say in the Scratch-MO image which qualifies development?
(Don't worry, I can't cheat, I mean, you can just do versions on a method or the changes and figure out if they cheated, and my changesets are named in the format "nXIII-Month DD-Title of Changeset")

EDIT: Ahaha, found it... good one:

makeAClass
    1 = 2 ifTrue: [^ nil].
    ^ 'SMO'

You should be more careful about changesets ... 'working'

Re: Scratch Mod Olympics

Maybe it should be in the rules if you delete that, you loose -2  medal points. I'd need a judge's approval.

But they can't really take away the changes file...
But you can delete portions.

No, you can remove it from the changeset entirely. Then doing versions will just say "no versions"

But I just lose 2 points because I started the 16th, right? Or can I subtract that from my free week and not lose any points?

No, I'm saying, I have a free week, so can I take four days from that week (leaving me three free days, I started on the 16th of August) and not receive any points off?

Re: Scratch Mod Olympics

Well, a judge will have to decide. But still what if someone doesn't use the thing LS97 made, so they don't have a CS?

I have all my changesets named with the date, and my changes file has the dates I started. It's proof that I started when I said I did. Why would I date my changesets if I wanted to lie about starting early?

Re: Scratch Mod Olympics

i would say, nXIII has a valid excuse. he had no access to squeak during one week, so started earlier. for that i have two options.
a) no medals lost but no extra days afterwards
b) -3 medals.

i say it's up to nXIII to decide...

and yes, if they don't use mine, i'll check the changeset. if there is no changeset, it means they have something to hide, because they took it away purposely (the 1.4 source code includes a changeset). and i can easily spot if someone has taken changes from other mods and included in theirs  smile

I think we should do the subtraction and leave me three days. What you're suggesting is unfair (I have a disadvantage because I have less time)

i let you decide on purpose. in fact it would have been pretty stupid if you'd chosen the other option - 3 more days for -2 medals  tongue
