Hi Scratchers,
Are you outside the United States? If so, try testing this URL http://eu.scratch.mit.edu/ and let us know if it is faster than scratch.mit.edu.
This is the exact same website, the only difference is that the caching engine is hosted in a server in Europe.
Thanks!

Hmm... I'm in Britain, but it just keeps telling me that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
EDIT: Firefox won't display the page for me, either...

Got it working now - I copy-pasted a space with the URL by accident before... (Oops!)
It seems a little slower to me - although that may just be my internet connection
My internet connection just sped up, and it's working faster for me than "scratch.mit.edu", now
Huh? It won't let me edit my post from the European server...

I joined the european server and it was way slower then before, then I re entered it, and got a 404 message from my ISP

Hmm. I logged in on both websites, looking on the front page, and compared, and because of course I'm in the U.S., scratch.mit.edu was faster than eu.scratch.mit.edu. But it might be different for people in europe. But I don't know .

I'm in the Uk, and it loads slightly faster for me than the normal site , but only by about a second or less for projects and there's not much difference on the homepage/user pages etc:.

It's difficult to say, but I doubt it's faster. It might even be slower (I'm in Belgium).
I could do a test to see how long 50 pageloads take
Yea, I don't think its faster in US or CA... All so you do that test 50 pageloads!

I'm from New Zealand (about as far from Europe as you can get ) - so I'll stick with the original; it's closer.
I tried to get to the Europe version, but Chrome says it doesn't exist...
EDIT: Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari also say that it doesn't exist...

eu.scratch.mit.edu ping 426ms
scratch.mit.edu ping 334ms
Normal scratch website is way faster for me. About 90ms

Almost the same. scratch.mit.edu is a little bit faster.
I live in China.

"Oops! Google Chrome could not find eu.scratch.mit.edu
Did you mean: scratch. mit. edu
Additional suggestions:
Go to mit. edu
Search on Google:"

It keeps saying "Oops! Internet Explorer could not find eu.scratch.mit.edu"

I live in Chile, the US server is about twice as fast as the Europe server for me.

The bugs will get fixed soon I hope, right now it's faster for some people.

Thanks to everyone for trying out. We are trying to get data points whether this is something we ought to do. We'd go with a CDN but that costs lots of money :-) so we are trying to figure out if there is a cheaper way to bring higher performance to non-US based folks.
