Scratch 1.4 on Windows XP SP3
The school I'm working in this week has a product called Securus ( http://www.securus-software.com ) installed. If Scratch 1.4 is also installed it crashes on startup with a VM error and the dump is:-

Any help/pointers greatly appreciated. Securus has to be on all 800+ workstations. Scratch won't be on all of them but every one it's been on has this problem and it's across several hardware platforms. If I remove Securus then Scratch runs but that's not an option.

Looks like that is a problem with the VM. You may wish to download the VM straight from the Squeak website (http://squeak.org/) - other than that I am afraid I can't help you.
As a quick test concerning whether or not the VM is the issue, you could always try downloading Squeak on those computers - if Squeak runs the VM is not the issue.
Hope that helps!
