can you make Scratch compatible with gifs?

my point is that if you click on the get a new sprite from the file, and select a gif, it would split all the motions into costumes.

95% of teens would cry if they saw the Jonas Brothers at the top of a sky scraper about to jump. If you are in the 5% who would grab some popcorn and then go get a nice seat to watch and start chanting JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! then copy and paste this in your sig.

Yep, you can do that already  smile

Instead of importing the GIF as a sprite, import them as costumes to an already existing sprite - just make it, say, a dot, and then import the GIFs into the sprite as costumes. Then, just delete the first costume and you're good to go  smile

Re: can you make Scratch compatible with gifs?

To add to coolstuff's post, there's a specific way you need to import the GIF to make each frame import. You first have to make a sprite, it doesn't matter what it looks like. Then open the costumes tab and drag the GIF onto the scratch window (you might have to resize the window so that you can see the file on the desktop or wherever it's saved).

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.
