Also if we will have a map in the game maybe we could use this.

Teleport,
I noticed on some of your past sprites that you stated you did not want people remixing them. How will you feel about people remixing Elementia and content in Elementia?
This is a pretty important question for me. I will want to drop out if the project isn't remix-friendly. I have no qualms with other ways of doing things, I just have my own preferences that are important to me.

Notification to all programmers
If you are a programmer and have no knowledge of Scratch 2.0.
I advise that you step down as programmer for a while until you become familiar with scratch 2.0 since we will be doing all our programming in scratch 2.0.
Also Topazdragonlord add me as programmer. I'v been doing a lot of programming with scratch 2.0 recently.

@smalltortoise:
Well.... I think the decision as to whether Elementia will be remix-friendly is up to topazdragonlord, but I'll post my opinions on it anyway.
You said that I stated that my sprites aren't remix-friendly. Well, I hate plagiarism, and I don't really like people saying that the sprites I make are theirs after they only add a few minor edits, or worse yet, no edits. That brings me to my second argument.
Why would you drop out of a project as a sprite maker and a programmer, only because it might not be remix-friendly? That's what I truly want to know. The reason as to why I hate remixes is because they only add a few edits to the project that we've made through hard work and discipline, and sometimes they even claim that they did most of the work. That leads us to my final argument.
Simply saying that you'll drop out because it might not be remix-friendly and that you have your own preferences as to how it should be doesn't really seem like much of a threat to me. Actually, what I want to know is why you'll quit the project only because it might not be remix-friendly. Is it because you'd like to remix it? If so, why say such a threat when you know that since you're a member, you can easily 'remix'(help make) it along the way?
These are my opinions on the matter, smalltortoise. You may choose to disregard it at any time; though that may make you seem like a coward, even though I will not treat you like one.
But just to repeat my first compromise in case any misconceptions might be forming:
I think the decision as to whether Elementia will be remix-friendly is up to topazdragonlord.
If I have hurt you in any way possible, I am sorry. ;(

And the deputy leaders
Personally I think Elementia should be remix-friendly as long as they ask before they use something and give us credit

If teleport and small tortoise are going to argue I think we are going to have to have a vote, so:
Do you think Elementia should be remix friendly?
For- BlazingWave (deputy leader), SmallTortoise (Storyline Planner)
Against- Teleport (Head Spriter)

But after seeing Blazingwave's post, I have come to the conclusion that it'll be up to the topazdragonlord and the deputy leaders to decide as to whether Elementia will be remix-friendly or not. Hoped I cleared up any misconceptions. So could you please call off the vote? Or maybe make it so the vote's only for topazdragonlord and the deputy leaders. ;P

First things first.
I would like to promote Teleport to loyal member rank. Deputy leaders can do that, right? (after all he has our banner in his signature. That shows some loyalty)
Sorry smalltortoise I can't exactly promote people who are prepared to leave because of one minor thing.
Also as deputy leader I will cast my vote as
Elementia being remix-friendly with a proposal that they give us credit

I didn't officially vote.
They weren't arguing, they were having an argumentative conversation.
Just noticed i'v made the signature of almost everybody in this collab
Current members:
topazdragonlord Made their signature
ieu99 Made their signature
Blazingwave Made my signature
kattenelvis Made their signature, since its the collab signature
madbunnygal Made their signature but they don't have a signature anymore.
PaulRHJT
popopobob
Maltese_Falcon
lundfamily3
smalltortoise Made their signature, since its the collab signature
Teleport Made their signature, since its the collab signature
Yay! New aim... Make everybody in the collabs signature... -.-
While I remember, ieu99 your signature is a little plain. I made it really quickly.
Can I make a new one for you?

Teleport,
You need to not jump to conclusions. Scratch was specifically made so people can remix projects. Everytime you make a Scratch project, you are remixing something. Even if you don't use any sprites or backgrounds or anything, you are sharing in something someone else created (a visual programming language).
I'm not sure why that makes me a coward or why you think I'm threatening you. I just simply don't want anything to do with a project where people are being greedy with their creations. That's not what Scratch is to me. I don't mind other people being more restrictive with their projects, but that's not what I want to spend my time on. Creative Commons and the whole spirit of innovation that comes with that is extremely important to me. It's the main reason I want to collaborate in the first place, not just some petty detail that I'm being snobby about. Just like it's important to you that people not "plagiarize" your stuff."
I felt like I went to great detail to make it known that I was not attacking anyone or the project but that it was something important for me to iron out before dedicating to something. I tried asking in a non-confrontational way but was ignored so I asked in a more direct way.
I'm not sure how any of that qualifies as me being a coward or attacking anyone..
Perhaps you should read more about Scratch, how it came about, and why it's here to understand my strong feelings? The fact is, I actually found Scratch from a creative learning class about collaboration. Why would I want to participate in something that is negative against remixing?
If I had to drop out, it wouldn't be something where I was mad at anyone. I'd even end up playing Elementia when it was finished. My werewolf basic storyline I submitted would be free to take (easy as it would be for someone else to redo), I just wouldn't want credit for it.
I think you are an outstanding artist and I have no qualms with you.
Blazing,
Thank you for the explanation but I am not interested in a lead position. I only want to help collaborate on a project. To me, the concept of remixing is not a minor thing. If it is minor to the group, this is simply a matter of difference of opinion. I don't feel like I am overreacting as this is a strong value for me and one of the main reasons I participate in Scratch projects. I can understand if this is not such a big deal to others, but it is to me. Had I known this would have been an issue, I would have asked before agreeing to sign on. Regardless, best of luck to all and the project.
Please don't feel like I am offering an ultimatum. Teleport is an outstanding artist and I have only offered a short and basic story, for one thing. Next, no project should be put in a position of ultimatum or progress held hostage because of ideals. That is not my intent. However, I simply will not want to work on this project if it isn't remix-friendly. I can't help that.
Offline
Also, I do want to add that I am also against plagiarism. Scratch remixes should always be credited, no matter what the change is. A best practice is to describe the changes that have been made when remixing.

This whole conversation is a little absurd don't you think?
It's not up to us whether Elementia is "remix-friendly".
Scratch is "remix-friendly", therefore all projects in scratch are "remix-friendly".
People can remix if they want to.
By being "remix-friendly" it simply means you encourage the idea of remixing, it doesn't mean that you allow people to remix your project since that isn't up to you.
By not being "remix-friendly" it simply means you discourage or are against people remixing your project.
smalltortoise wrote:

This project is not negative to remixing.
To me, the concept of remixing is not a minor thing.
Who said it is?
I simply said that it's minor that you would quit simply because one member of the collab (more specifically: teleport) is against remixing.
Now your making it look as if the whole collab won't allow remixing.
1. As I said above you can't "not allow" remixing.
2. The whole collab never said that, only teleport did and that's his opinion.

Right. And on Teleport's past projects he put things in the description like "DONT REMIX MY STUFF I HATE PLAGIARISTS."
To me, it would be absurd for me to be in a project if our lead sprite maker is going to be like that about THIS project. I don't want a part of it. It's that simple. Let's just cut the confusion out and say I'm out. That's pretty simple.
Best of luck. I look forward to playing. Use my werewolf story if you like it, I have no issue with that.
Peace

I do want to say that a strong value in leaders that I respect is the ability to see when people have different views and strong feelings and respectfully help those differences get worked out or at the least not treat people like they are being absurd for trying to civilly talk out differences that are important to them. It's obviously important to both Teleport and I.

I'm not trying to make it look like anything. I'd really rather just drop out and not distract the thread from the main purpose of making an awesome game. Thanks for making me feel welcome, and sorry if I wasted time. Again, best of luck.

Guys, sorry if teleport is being kind of... self-centered. He's a proud guy and likes to prove himself the 'best'. Oh yeah, be ready as he has a surprise sprite of mage weapons

Don't worry I'm going to try and settle a way to try and get smalltortoise back to the collab. Since both he and Teleport are both great and valuable members of this collab.

OK, I've been reading the posts and have come to a conclusion. I think that Elementia should be free to remix (not that it is an option for it not to be), but on some conditions.
1. You may not claim the ideas and/or content as your own with the exception of if it is yours, but credit will be given anyway.
2. You may remix- but you must give credit.
3. You may not remix and post it un-altered just for your sake.
If you wish to change any of these, or add your own ones- do not hesitate to post them. I will not be offended

That sounds perfectly reasonable. I feel like somehow I miscommunicated my intent? And it kind of blew out of proportion. I'm sure I didn't help it along in the right direction. I tried, but I have communication problems and probably overexplained making it seem something it wasn't. I don't even know. Regardless, I wasn't trying to pit collaborators against each other, wasn't trying to disrupt the project, wasn't trying to steal anything, and certainly wasn't trying to say Teleport is somehow not an amazing part of the team. I hope it's all cleared up.
I'm still going to have to drop out. My dad's in the hospital, I have mounds of schoolwork, and I while I still have time to dedicate I don't think I have the frame of mind right now. I can't help but feel that this whole conversation would have been quick and drama-free had I been of sound mind without being stressed about my dad. I'm sure I mucked up what I was trying to say somehow. Anyway, I should be focusing on other things. I might drop in and try to help if I see you all in a pinch or something and I definitely look forward to the game.
Sorry I caused problems, I really wasn't trying to.
