Minimum or maximum?

NeilWest's could probably serve as a decent minimum.
So, minimum is 700.

I'll put the maximum at 10,000 not because I expect them to be that long but too accommodate any potentially longer stories.

Doesn't 10,000 seem like a bit of a stretch, though?
Also would you plan on submitting a story yourself?

I've set the limit intentionally high.

It's like telling a fifth grader that they can recreate the starry night to the last detail during art class if they want to.

And it is still a short story at that length, and feels like a good cutoff next to something that would be TOO large a time investment to consider it one.

Okay then..

So how about we set up a due date for the submissions?

Hm.

That was really a limit made up on the spot and your story could be very good so I don't know!

I just don't want to set the bar at like, 25,000 or something, that's a novella.

That should be alright, unless you could find some way to abridge it?
If you can't then that's okay, it's the content we're looking out for. ;)

Re: The Scratchers' Short Story Anthology

On whether or not I write something well
I'm writing something now that I hope I can make a novel
but if it doesn't have the longevity for that I'll put it in this.

Or I may decide to write something entirely separate for this.

You should probably write a separate story.
How long is your current story? Maybe you could make it an excerpt?

My current story is at like 2,610 but I haven't really written on it today so sitting at 3,000 but like
It's still at the beginning.
The main concept hasn't been introduced so it will probably be too long.

I do have a(n) (couple) idea(s) for a different story though.

I have a story that I wrote for school though, something like 4500 words.
I don't really want to submit something I have already, I'd rather write something new.

Re: The Scratchers' Short Story Anthology

I suppose I keep the data collected to myself and that way the story doesn't have to be given out on the forums?
